Helen Garner is famous for writing postcards. Also, Annie Lamott told me years and years ago, that she keeps a one inch picture frame on her desk, and when the words won’t come, she picks it up and imagines writing just what she can see in it, one small thing.
Great to hear you have had rain, I saw it heading down to Tassie on the radar and hoped it was going your way. Wishing J a solid and careful recovery. Good luck Maggie.
I do like that idea of persisting for one more day to write. (I need to go back into the postcard, can’t quote it properly).
At some point I think we've all felt like we were having a one-on-one conversation with Anne. And yes, thank goodness for the rain. The pademelons have been coming closer to town for green grass, everything is yellowing x
Love a postcard, and Annie.

Ah yes, live one more day and write one more thing...excellent.
And that post of Sarah’s on Vanessa Bell was magnificent.
I hope you get some more rain soon ...
Postcard writing ... brilliant idea! How gorgeously you write about birds.

Love this Maggie. Also love Annie Lamott!
Love the Labrador for scale and the trees dewarfing the truck. 🤞🌧️😘
Nothing like that rain finally coming. It’s been a whole day of it in Hobart - now holding our breath for a follow up. Love your birds.
I have a postcard from Helen Garner after I wrote to her last year. One of my most treasured possessions!
