Reading your words is always a delight. I feel transformed and not because I know the landscapes of which you speak but your language is so magical and honest. thanks Maggie.

The EVERYTHING bit made my eyes well. I can't imagine my little Nessie all grown up and stories such as this being told about her little self. I loved that poem too xo

I welled up when my friend’s husband told the story. It seems such a short time ago and he’s out there in the world …

I am already starting to get a sense of how hard this will be. How proud I will be that she is out in the world but how much I will miss her too xo

I can't believe I just read CURBAN in your post! I grew up west of Armatree (and miss it like you miss home...) and the school bus drove past Curban every morning on the way to school in Gilgandra. You'll have a great day if Jenny Bradley and Sally Beveridge have organised it

I couldn’t believe it when they asked me. I’m really looking forward to it….though getting from an event in port fairy on the Saturday to an event in curban on the Sunday is going to be 😵‍💫

I’m not a great reader of poetry, but I do enjoy what you include in your posts. I do have two books in poetry, Poetical Works of Lord Byron which has a date of 1884 due to it being gifted to Isa L. Horner from her brother G.L.Horner, and Around the Boree Log and Other Verses by John O’Brien, re-printed Edition 1990. Our grandchildren, numbering 9, have been the recipients of my poetry each year from when they were born until 18 years of age. Three more to go until 18, and I do find it harder and harder each year. What I have done for each of them is to produce a book which included the poems plus photos for each of their years, and each eagerly looked forward to, thankfully.
